A mini’s program is also being implemented that will introduce preschool kids to the sport during the spring of 2025. There is no player registration restriction and is open to all athletes, including those not attending Shawnigan Lake School.
U14 introduction to contact $150, U16 & 18 full contact $250 – includes training top, socks & insurance through Rugby Canada.
Constitution
The Salish Sea Warriors Rugby Football Club is a registered society in British Columbia that was created as a platform to promote youth rugby in the Capital Regional District of Mill Bay. A rugby club within the North Vancouver Island Rugby Union, known as Tsunami for regional competition.
Our mandate is to provide a healthy and safe environment to teach the game of rugby to all ages and genders of youth.
The primary objective is to give age grade (8 to 12) rugby athletes either attending Shawnigan Lake School or in the local community an opportunity to play in the club league competition. Club and regional rugby are an integral part of the Player Pathway and provides athletes with critical playing experience to develop their skillsets and game understanding. The Salish operate out of the school facilities taking advantage of existing amenities and capitalizes on the experienced coaching staff that volunteer their time. It gives those young players a great opportunity to train further and become a part of the great rugby community outside of Shawnigan Lake and the school competition which is limited to the spring season.
